Donkey says Hello!

I’ve been working on and off in Project Management for 20 plus years, and how things have changed.  When I started I was young, no grey hairs and now the time is running away and the grey hairs are creeping in.   

Over the years, I have seen how things have changed in the project world, when at the beginning, there was less structure, less documentation and more simply getting on with it.  And now, the world of project management has moved on, to a lot more structure and a load more documentation, that all needs to be completed.  The development of a more structured approach to project management is a good thing, I think, no it is, but sometimes, especially when I have to start to write say a Project Initiation Document, I do wish, I was back in the time when you got a call from your boss and they gave you a verbal request to deliver something and off you trotted.  As the saying goes, those good old days!
